About this policy

GroceryBee is operated by Adyatec Pty Ltd (ACN 162 353 399). We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint.

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

What we collect

We collect the personal information we need to sell and deliver products to you and to run our store. This usually includes your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, your order details and history, and the messages you send us. If you create an account, we also hold your account details and preferences.

When you pay, your payment details are entered directly with our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.

When you use our website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your device and browser type, pages visited and your IP address, which we use to run, secure and improve the website.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, contact us or otherwise deal with us. We may also receive information from our service providers, for example delivery status from a carrier or payment status from a payment provider.

Why we use it

We use personal information to process, deliver and support your orders, to manage your account, to respond to your enquiries, to process refunds and returns, to prevent fraud and misuse, to meet our legal obligations, and to run and improve our store.

With your consent, we may also send you news and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above, with service providers who help us run our store. These include payment providers, website hosting and data storage providers, email delivery providers, and courier and postal services. We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires or authorises it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their sub-processors operate. We take reasonable steps to make sure those providers handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encrypted connections and access controls. We keep personal information only as long as we need it, including to meet record-keeping obligations such as those under tax law, and then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us through our Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for making a request. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us through our Contact page and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
